For the past few years, M&G Investments has stood as a proud supporter of Kwano Cycling Academy, an initiative changing lives and making a real impact in Kwanokuthula.
Kwano Academy helps youth thrive academically and athletically. The initiative has received national recognition for its meaningful work in empowering young people through education, sport, and mentorship. The Academy currently supports over 100 students in preparing for examinations and is aiming for a 100% matric pass rate for the seventh consecutive year.
While the books stay open, the bikes are never far away. Kwano’s renowned cycling programme continues to inspire and develop young talent, ensuring learners are given the best possible opportunity to succeed on the trails and in the classroom. M&G Investments are proud supporters of Kwano Academy.
This relationship comes to life most vibrantly during the M&G Investments PE Plett mountain bike stage race. As riders traverse the journey from the Eastern to the Western Cape, the presence of the Kwano Academy is felt at every stage.
Kwano Academy students are an integral part of the event’s “behind-the-scenes” success, managing the bike wash stations in the race villages. Here, the bikes are expertly cared for by the dedicated team, whose passion and professionalism ensures every bike gets top-class attention.
This year the partnership is going a step further. For the upcoming 2026 event, M&G Investments have donated several race entries to the Academy. This gesture ensures that the top riders from Kwano Academy have the platform to experience a world-class sporting event, putting their training to the test alongside seasoned mountain bikers from throughout South Africa.
