The Ride combines with The Tour
"We have decided to combine both "The Ride" and "The Tour". We felt we were missing something when it came to the hype around "The Tour". As there are fewer people on "The Tour" (by design) we are worried that when people get to the end, like they did this year, there won't be enough action at the end due to the smaller crowds.
This lack of hype, we thought, detracted from the overall achievement and thus combining the two events, while still keeping each events characteristics in place, was the right move."
